Today’s Carnage Brought to You By…

times.jpg

At 3:10 this morning, a man drove the wrong way down the I-5 and colliding with other cars, killing himself and two other people, injuring two more and backing traffic up for hours.  By publication of this article, the police still hadn't determined whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.

While I have no problem syndicating stories from Streetsblog, I usually don't steal their article ideas.  That said, there's just something jarring about reading an article in the Times about a horrific car crash and seeing the article surrounded by advertisements for high end automobiles.

I can't help but notice that the advertisements aren't for any of the cars involved in the crash.  I hope that's a coincidence and that the ad-bots used by the Times don't somehow automatically place the car ads next to articles about crashes involving their competition.
