It's a packed weekend in Boyle Heights, filled with bicycle rides, events highlighting historical treasures, and an intersection getting some new public furniture. Here's a weekend rundown of things to check out:

Public furniture installation at the corner of Fickett Street and Wabash Avenue

Union de Vecinos will install public furniture  at 6 p.m. today on the corner of Fickett Street and Wabash Avenue. There will be a procession to the site, where there will be activities for families and children to celebrate the furnitures installation. This is the second phase of the Living Streets Initiative that started with a case study released by Green LA Coalition.

A public living room was installed last month at Fickett and Boulder Streets, as part of the campaign to demonstrate living streets principals in Boyle Heights by Living Streets L.A.
