Streetsblog and Pacoima Beautiful Present: Pacoima Wash 2050, Part of the #2050 Listens Series

PlaceIt! at Pacoima Beautiful's Bradley Street Festival De La Plaza on 4/19

Join Us to Plan/Play the Future of Pacoima!

The Bradley Street Festival De La Plaza

We will be installing and facilitating innovative community engagement art venues in Pacoima this Saturday, April 19, 2014. These art venues are developed to use our bodies and imagination to solicit community input on local urban planning challenges and opportunities.  These techniques were developed from working nationally.

Date:          Saturday, April 19, 2014

Time:          10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Location:    San Fernando Gardens Housing

Bradley Street Entrance off Van Nuys Blvd.

We have developed three different activities for this event that tackle the issues of transportation, environment, public space and other issues community members identify though the process:

1) Pacoima Wash 2050: I will build a 12 foot long interactive model which allows participants to envision what the Wash should look like in 2050 throughout the day!

2) The Great Street Drawing: We build a large street 8 feet by 4 feet map/canvass were participants can literally draw or stencil what they believe should be part of a "great street" throughout the day.

3) Imagine the Bradley Street Plaza: At 11:00 am and 1:00 pm I will facilitate an on-site interactive workshops where we ask participants how would they design their ideal plaza People St Plaza.

We will document all the findings from these activities to help plan a healthy, sustainable Pacoima!

The Festival itself and all #LA 2050 events are free and open to the public.
