Metro board meeting with fareless transit rally, Rail to Rail, South El Monte complete streets, and more.

  • Wednesday 7/26 - Metro will host a 6 p.m. Rail to Rail Project Update Meeting. Get a project overview and the latest updates on construction of the Rail to Rail Active Transportation Corridor Project. Details at Metro meeting page.
  • Thursday 7/27 - The Alliance for Community Transit (ACT-LA) and other advocates will host a 9 a.m. rally for fareless transit. They urge Mayor and new Metro Board Chair Karen Bass to make good on her campaign pledge to make Metro fare-free. Join ACT-LA as they rallying to keep universal fareless transit - and other transit justice goals - a priority for Mayor Bass and Metro Board. The rally will take place starting at 9 a.m. at Metro Headquarters at One Gateway Plaza, behind Union Station in downtown Los Angeles. Details and RSVP via ACT-LA event page.   • Thursday 7/27 - The full Metro board meets at 10 a.m. to discuss and decide various items. Find meeting agendas and staff reports at Metro board meeting page.
  • Saturday 7/29 - ActiveSGV will host a Santa Anita Avenue Complete Streets Community Bike Ride. Learn more about South El Monte's Santa Anita Avenue Complete Streets Project on an free easy 9-mile bike ride down the Santa Anita corridor. Ride gathers starting at 8 a.m. for an 8:30 a.m. roll-out from the Jeff Seymour Family Center at 10900 Mulhall Street in El Monte. Details and RSVP at Eventbrite.
